Flavours

The following cake flavours and fillings are available:

   1: Madeira sponge with a vanilla buttercream and strawberry preserve filling

   2: Luscious lemon cake with a tangy lemon buttercream filling

   3: Moist chocolate cake with a chocolate ganache buttercream filling

   4: Moist carrot cake with a fresh orange buttercream filling (if desired)

   5: Light or rich, luxurious traditional fruit cake.

If you would like to order a fruit cake, a minimum of 3 months notice is required. For wedding cakes, a fruit cake would normally form the largest/bottom tier as it is the heavier cake. Please take this into account if you choose a fruit layer. The cakes above have been listed in order of density, the lightest at the beginning.

Various flavours of buttercream and preserves can be accommodated, however for wedding cakes two choices is normally sufficient. In some cases gluten-free alternatives can also be supplied.

All cakes are covered in a marzipan layer before the rolled fondant/sugar paste layer is added. This locks-in moisture and provides a good clean base for the icing. For those who are not keen on marzipan, cakes can be covered with a double layer of sugar paste if preferred.
